INVAR 36(Super Alloy) : This is one of the controlled expansion alloys. It has an expansion rate roughly 10 % that of standard carbon steels. Also known as Invar 36 or Alloy 36, the only alloy with lower CTE is Super Invar, or Alloy 32-6, but this alloy is extremely rare and is generally only produced by the mill in heat lot quantities. Note: Recent testing has determined that increased hardness will decrease CTE in all temperature ranges in Invar alloys.

Invar 42 / Nilo 42® _ UNS K94200

Invar 42® is a nickel iron alloy that is used for controlled expansion and magnetic applications. Invar 42® can be hot and cold formed, machined by processes similar to those used for austenitic stainless steels. The alloy is available in the following forms: Invar 36, Invar 42, Invar 48, Invar K, and Invar 77

Carpenter Super Invar 32-5

Carpenter Super Invar 32-5, a magnetic, austenitic, solid solution alloy containing iron, nickel and cobalt, is designed to provide minimum thermal expansion at room temperatures. This alloy also exhibits austenite stability to service temperatures at least -67°F (-55°C) and thermal expansion properties less than those of Carpenter Invar "36"® alloy (36% nickel-iron) when used in the -67/203°F (-55/95°C) temperature range. Applications for Super Invar 32-5 have included structural components for supports and substrates in optical and laser systems requiring precision measurements. This alloy has also been used in wave guide tubes and other systems requiring metals in conjunction with low expansion glass/quartz assemblies.

Density: 8.14g/cc

Alloy 42&Alloy 52

Alloy 42 is a nickel iron alloy whose coefficient of expansion makes it suitable for joining to ceramic chips in miniature electronic circuits.
Alloy 52 is a nickel iron alloy whose coefficient of expansion closely mirrors soft glass. Applications for this product include magnetic reed switches and seals that need controlled linear expansion to approximately 525 °C.
